This week I was interviewed for two different newspaper articles. If you have a worthwhile product or service that is helpful to the businesses that use it; you have a responsibility to let people know about it. This means you must market and “put

Energy Cost Crisis - How Can You Cope?

We all know that petrol is going through the roof and electricity is about to follow.  Water is short, and restricted and costing more.  There is a flow on to other goods right across the board.  This does NOT have to overwhelm your business.  Enviro Action training courses help you to identify and reduce your energy and other waste and save you money

I really care about this problem and until the end of August I have a special gift for you!
If you are one of the first 10 to sign up for my “Easy to be Green”, ISO 14001 coached training program for $2,400 I will give you a print version of my book “It is Easy to be Green: Simple steps to help Your Business Help the World” and a print version of “Reduce your Carbon Footprint”.

Want to save even more and Do-It-Yourself?  YES you can do this too
“Green Your Business: The Do-It-Yourself” Complete Home Study course for only $660, comes complete with audio files and full documentation.  This is exactly the same training as the coached course but without the coaching.  If you decide that you want to upgrade to the coached course you can deduct the full cost off the cost of the coached course.  PLUS, because I want to help you reduce your costs, I will give you a free digital copy of my book “Reduce your Carbon Footprint” and If you are one of the first 10 to sign up, you will also receive a print version of my book “It is Easy to be Green: Simple steps to help Your Business Help the World” and a print version of “Reduce your Carbon Footprint”.

What are some of the major benefits of Enviro Action’s method of helping business to reduce their impacts on the environment?

The big benefit is keeping it simple with a low paper approach to managing the environmental issues so that neither workers nor admin get snowed under by paperwork and this is possible because of the careful planning in Module 1.

The other big one is that we transfer the knowledge to you so you can be self reliant as you manage your own business rather than being chained to a consultant for upgrades and changes.

Clients tell me that they like that fact that they can work on their system at any time and there is only one hour set time commitment each week and this teleconference is recorded so that you can go over the recording later, play it to others in the business and you can just concentrate on thinking during the teleconference without taking notes.

Many of them also like the audio training which they find more time effective than having to read everything – but we do give you both audio and written.

They tell me this training method is easier to fit into what can sometimes be a fairly frenzied life style.  Several of my small family business clients have “young mums” who are responsible for implementing the management system and doing much of the administration.  They tell me the flexibility of this training really fits into their hectic time tables

Another benefit is that the concepts go on gelling along in your head while you are working in the business and this would not happen to the same extent if you had to go off to a two day training course.  This is consolidation –  while you are working, you may have a thought that consolidates what you have been learning and should jot it down in a note pad or paper pad and put it in a tray to be used when you sit down to spend some time on implementation.

What do 90% of Australians want?
The latest survey shows that although we worry about how much it will cost us, 90% of Australian’s want to do something about Climate Change and Global Warming.  75% of us say we need to do something now and not to wait until the rest of the world do something.  They said they want Australia to make a stand.

Of course there is uncertainty about climate predictions and the basic things that have always changed over the millennia will go on changing but we have added an “insulating blanket” of pollution to the atmosphere and this pollution is what we call the greenhouse gasses.  The 3 major gasses are carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen oxides (sometimes called NOX).

Australian’s are aware that they are some of the largest per head emitters of greenhouse gasses.  The other two bad polluters are the USA and Canada and although China and India have large populations they release very little greenhouse pollution per head.  The people there aspire to having a lifestyle like they see on TV and films in the west so we certainly need to lead a better example than we do at present!

  • Half the CO2 release in Australia comes from domestic use
  • Our electricity comes mainly from coal fired generation
  • Our roads are choked with inefficient cars
  • And running our homes uses almost the same energy as running our cars.  The worst culprits are the TVs, video games etc and all the myriad of things on standby.

When white ice at the poles is replaced by dark sea we will reach a tipping point where it all heats faster.

Carbon Capture and Storage

We all need to do something about global warming and storing carbon sounds a great way to go.  This is being done in the North Sea by the Norwegians.  The are piping CO2 out to offshore oil rigs that are no longer in use because the oil field is now depleted and they are pumping the CO2 deep into the basins below the seabed.  The have buried 100 million tons of CO2 in this way. The State of the Murray Darling Basin

The Federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry have released the information that the Murray-Darling Basin drought is getting worse with June inflows the lowest on record and autumn inflows only just above the record lows of 2007. The Chief Executive Dr Wendy Craik AM said inflows in June were 95 GL, lower than the previous record low of 106 GL June 2006. In June 2007 inflows were 220 GL.
