Are your ready for new Federal safety?

There are some key points we all need to know about the new “harmony” in our safety systems as the Government are calling it.

There is NO grace period! Get ready by January 1st 2012 or risk problems.

Here are some key points:

• There is a much wider definition of a person conducting a business and it does include solo operators and contractors and I suspect not many of them are aware of this.
• A self employed person is both and employer and a worker – they wear two hats.
• There is a much enlarged definition of workers to include customers and visitors and even passers by.
• As an employer or manager you no longer have the right of silence so you will be interviewed immediately while in a state of shock and if you are not really clear on how you have met all your obligations you could easily incriminate yourself into huge fines or even jail as workplace law is criminal law.
• The right of entry of unions is entrenched in the legislation
• The fines are very significantly increased
• Consultation with workers is now part of the Act not only in the regulations
• The Model Act has been written to be very much in line with the Fair Work Act.

If you do not have a proper safety management system in place it is time to start now.

The workshop also covers what you need to qualify for tenders so you can avoid submitting one of the  tender many responses that go straight into the bin largely unread.

Unlike the majority of training programs this does not just give you a pile of forms and procedures with no real understanding of what is actually needed and I don't simply teach you about a standard.  You get real, practical help.

I teach you how to discover all your hidden risks and how to have a very low paper system. Big manuals and mountains of forms that simply sit on the shelf are a waste of time -  We won't do that!
