Reduce Your Carbon Footprint Book

The current debate and confusion about a carbon tax is confusing the issues involved. It is mostly just about HOW and I am not getting involvd in the politics.

Reducing our atmospheric pollution is simply sensible risk management.  Because of our small population, we only emit a small portion of global emissions BUT we do have the highest emissions per head in the world.

The thing is to stop and think how you would feel if the science is right and all the pollution we are pumping into our atmosphere really is damaging our weather patterns, changing the ocean currents, increasing severity of storms and even causing larger and more frequent earthquakes.

Imagine telling your kids that you didn't do anything to prevent the changes because you weren't sure if they were real.  Can you afford to take that risk?

I remain unconvinced that the current government policies will really solve the problem while they continue to increase out coal and gas exports.  However the question of telling our kids we did nothing remains.

Changing Habits at Home and Work Save You Money!
Turning things off is a cultural thing and if you want to reduce your power bills you need to be actively working on changing people's habits around wasting power.

Given the fact that people are capable of turning off taps, they should be able to turn off computers and even monitors that must be separately turned off.

Changing a habit takes around one-two months of being very consistent and if you can help your people to reduce their power consumption at home by giving all your employees a copy of my book “Reduce Your Carbon Footprint,: A Simple tool for Work and Home” so they can start to save money there as well, the habit of turning things off will happen faster.

Now is the right time to do this because of the way electricity prices are escalating.

Stop and do the math.  If 60% of your computer equipment is left on 24/7 and business hours are only one quarter of the week you are wasting so much on electricity!  The price of my book  is trivial and you will save more than this in no time.
You can have reprint rights to this book and incorporate your own branding - an ideal way to demonstrate your  leadership and social responsibility to your customers, communities and staff.

The book explains the greenhouse effect and what causes climate change in a straightforward way. It removes the doubt and confusion.  However reducing your power bills makes sense regardless of what you believe.

More importantly it gives practical suggestions to help you reduce your energy and other bills so that you can run a sustainable business.

Climate Change is simply a result of atmospheric pollution and we are all responsible.

Neither the temperature nor sea level have risen much yet but the small increase in global temperature is already having a huge impact on the amount of ice in the Arctic and changing ocean currents resulting in blizards on North America and Europe caused by a weaker Gulf Stream current and a stronger than usual La Nina causing so much havoc in Queensland.

Worse than this, is the decrease in the weight of those huge glaciers in Alaska that put pressure on the tectonic plates so that earthquakes are becoming larger and more frequent.

Can you afford to ignore the pollution that causes these problems?

I wanted to let you know that I was so happy the other week when I got my latest electricity bill, it had dropped by over $200 compared to what I have been paying over the last couple of years.  It also makes me feel that I’m doing my little bit to start trying to make this a better place for my children.   I think every household needs to read your book “How to reduce your carbon footprint” because there are so many good points in there and they do work.......  Kellie Simon, Virtual Assistant, Elizabeth SAust
